Careers Service

Careers Guernsey provides free, impartial career guidance, information and advice to encourage people to become effective career planners. Careers Guernsey is an all-age service, operating within the Education Department. The services are available to everybody in the community, free of charge and provided in an impartial and confidential way.

Our Aim

To help build a competitive economy and inclusive society by encouraging and guiding people of all ages to engage in learning, skills and career development, in order to realise and fulfil their true potential.

Our Services

Careers Information and Advice - providing up to date information and advice on employment, education and training opportunities to all sectors of the community. We provide this through our website, resource library and experienced Careers Advisers.

Careers Guidance - enabling people of all ages to find out more about themselves, their motivation and career planning needs, delivered by professionally trained Careers Advisers.

GWEx (Guernsey Work Experience) - co-ordinating the work experience programme for schools and employers to support work related learning in the curriculum.

Education Business Partnership (EBP) - forming partnerships with employers to help prepare young people for the world of work. At the same time, helping employers keep up to date with the curriculum and learning styles.

SEN (Special Education Needs) Transitions - helping prepare young people with SEN for their education, employment and training needs as part of a multi-agency approach.

Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Network advice and support - providing support and training to those involved with IAG support to people in schools, agencies and the community.
